Personal Dosimetry

Exposure to radiation is potentially harmful. An increased awareness leads to a decreased dose. Unfors offer products for the staff, patients and for nuclear medicine.

Dose awareness
ICRP* recommends the LNT (Linear No Threshold) approach, which assumes a direct relation between dose and human risk. The ALARA** principle is implemented in most hospitals, but is not always practiced due to a lack of staff awareness of the actual risk of radiation exposure from medical equipment. The increasingly frequent use of medical applications, such as fluoroscopy procedures also increase this risk.
